<Spectator Information> now available.

Saturday Spectator Points:

Hindmarsh Tiers

This spectator point on the Hindmarsh Tiers stage will give you a view of the short straight which becomes a deceptively tight right hand corner at the spectator point road junction. The camber of the road also adds to the technical difficulty of the corner.

To get to the spectator point on Greenhills Road, at the junction with Sawpit Road, Hindmarsh Valley, turn onto Hindmarsh Valley Road from the Victor Harbor Road (a right turn, if travelling from Adelaide), then take the first left onto Hutchinson Road. Follow the road 3.4km to the T Junction and turn hard right onto Greenhills Road, and then travel another 3.8km to the road junction. Please park courteously, and follow the instructions of officials.

The first competition car will arrive on their first pass at the Hindmarsh Tiers stage at 1:58pm, with the last competitor expected at approximately 3:15pm. At 3:49pm, the first competitor will take a second run, with the last car to follow at approximately 5:08pm.

Sunday Spectator Points:

Willunga Hill

The John Yeates Lookout on the Victor Harbor Road has been a popular spectator point every year since the first stage was run along Old Willunga Hill Road in 2006. Easily accessible from service park at Penny's Hill Restaurant & Cellars by turning right from the main gates, and heading south on Main Rd toward Willunga. After 2.8km, turn right at Aldinga Rd and follow it 1.2km and turn left onto Victor Harbor Road. The lookout is 3km along Victor Harbor Road on the left.

First competition car will arrive on the first run at 8:30am, with the last car expected at approximately 9:49am. On the second run, the first car will arrive at 10:50am, and the last car at approximately 12:09pm.

The carpark will fill up, so please park with care if you need to park on the road side, and be careful of vehicles travelling on the Victor Habor Road.

Ashbourne

As a new stage for 2010, Ashbourne will challenge all the teams equally, as none will have the advantage of previous experience on this stage.

The spectator point at the junction of Henry Martin Road and Signal Flat Road, Ashbourne can be reached from the John Yeates Lookout by turning left onto Victor Harbor Road, and travelling south 1.7km, then turning left onto Old Willunga Hill Road. Bear left after 200m to stay on Old Willunga Hill Road, and after 500m, turn right onto Meadows Road. Take a slight left after 8.1km onto Brookman Road, then after 11km, turn right at Mawson Road. After 2.2km, this becomes Adelaide Goolwa Rd - continue straight on a further 12.7km, then turn left onto Henry Martin Road. The spectator point is approximately 2km along. Please park your vehicle courteously, and follow the directions of rally officials.

9:08am will see the arrival of the first competition car, with the last car passing at approximately 10:27am to complete the first pass. The first car will arrive for its second run at Ashbourne at 11:28am, with the last car arriving at approximately 12:47pm.

Wickhams Hill

This spectator point has been the backdrop for the most breathtaking rally photos taken every year. From the 3 wheeled photo of 2009 winners Andrew Burnard & Brian Virgo featured in the 2010 poster, to the flames shooting from the exhaust of the Lamborghini of Kevin Weeks and Bec Crunkhorne in 2008, this hairpin has a habit of pushing cars and drivers to feats that need to be seen to be believed.

To get to the spectator point from Penny?s Hill Restaurant and Cellars, turn left from the main gates, and head north towards McLaren Vale. After 3.2 km, turn right toward Kangarilla on Kangarilla Road. Follow the road 10.9km, then turn right onto Toops Hill Road. After 4km, park on left, and follow directions from officials for viewing positions

First competition car will arrive on the first run at 2:06pm, with the last car expected at approximately 3:25pm. On the second run, the first car will arrive at 3:58pm, and the last car at approximately 5:17pm.

Thursday, 6 May 2010 Media Release # 8

SUPALOC RACING DUAL ENTRY LOOKING TO DOMINATE

THE 2010 ASP/ CUT PRICE ADELAIDE

Application Service Provider (asp) and Cut Price Truck Rentals proudly presenting the

Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally

Friday 21st of May 2010 through to Sunday 23rd of May 2010

Supaloc Racing confirmed today that reining SA Tarmac Rally Champions, Andrew Burnard and Brian Virgo together with Kevin Weeks and John Allen will both be entering this years asp / Cut Price Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally to be held on roads in the Fleurieu Peninsula region in South Australia later this month.

The pair will campaign the Supaloc Mitsubishi EVO VIII crewed by Burnard and Virgo together with the sensational fire breathing Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera R with the Weeks / Allen pairing in an all out effort to claim a dual podium finish for the Team at this year’s exciting event.

Kevin and Andrew not only enjoy the competitive nature of tarmac rallying, but also team up together as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Steel Building Systems Australia, the manufacturers and marketers of Supaloc steel framing. “This is a great opportunity for Kevin and I, not only to work together but also to share our passion for tarmac rallying and like our approach to business, it’s all about winning.” Andrew said when the news came through of the dual entry, however he would not go further when asked if there were any Team orders, only saying, “Lamborghini versus Mitsubishi, no contest!”

The two cars will be supported during the event by Supaloc Racings crew, lead by Oscar Fiorinotto, who continue to push the boundaries in automotive technology, not only in the development of the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera R, but also in the development of the Supaloc damper and suspension systems run in the Mitsubishi EVO.

Kevin and John will no doubt be out to put some rally miles in the newly built Lamborghini, but will be a clear favourite for outright honours for the event. “We want to compete in our home state and give the spectators the opportunity to see this special car in action. While we acknowledge the Lambo has superior performance, we still have to keep it on the road to finish. It will be a special event for Supaloc racing to have two cars competing from the one team. Andrew and I are not only business associates but good friends as well, and this will be a great weekend to spend some out of the office time together pursuing our joint passion, Tarmac rallying” said Kevin.

The sights and sounds of the Supaloc Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera R will be a real thrill for spectators as this outstanding motor vehicle traverses the hills of the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Cant say I am happy about it .. :?

Anyway Kevin will still need to get the Lambo to the finish ... either way if anyone was in two minds about coming out have a look, then there are now no excuses. Seeing and hearing the Lambo at full noise will be a well worth the effort. It will be the closest thing to an F1 car running around the Adelaide Hills you will ever get to see!!

You will have a ball; just don't officiate faster than those who have entered! Good to see some extensive experience thrown into the mix of the department. Catch you Friday with bells on; and remember to swallow your balls! :P

A little more notice would have been nice though. Nothing like late pace noting!

congrats on the position guys, i'm glad to see the event organisers have chosen some of MGEC's experienced competitors with reliable vehicles for the course car roles instead of free loading inexperienced wannabe racers

We've been assigned 0C (zero charlie) and will be towards the back of the field with the green light for "rally pace" so be sure to wave if you're out watching people!
